Read the full storyNorth Somerset runs from the Bristol Channel to the edge of the Mendips, and it holds two quite different sorts of place. Weston-super-Mare is the largest town, a seaside resort with the pier and the sands and the council’s offices. Portishead, Clevedon and Nailsea face Bristol and empty out towards it every morning. Yatton, Congresbury and Winscombe sit inland between them.
The North Somerset Post covers all of it. One thing worth stating plainly at the top: North Somerset Council is its own unitary authority and is not part of Somerset Council, so anything you read about Somerset’s bins or council tax almost certainly does not apply here. We report from this council’s own record, with a link to the document on every fact.
